Holding a cup overflowing with water is not as good as stopping in time; grinding a blade too sharp cannot be maintained for long. A hall filled with gold and jade—no one can keep it safe; wealth and honor that breed arrogance bring disaster upon oneself. When the work is done, retire—this is the Way of Heaven.
