In reversal diseases, when pathogenic qi travels retrograde along the spine causing pain that reaches the top of the head, with dizziness, blurred vision, and stiffness of the lumbar spine and back, treat by bloodletting from the blood vessels in the popliteal fossa of the Foot Taiyang Bladder channel. In reversal diseases, with chest fullness, facial edema, moist lips as if about to drip, sudden difficulty in speech, or in severe cases inability to speak, treat the Foot Yangming Stomach channel. In reversal diseases, when pathogenic qi ascends retrograde to the throat causing inability to speak, coldness of the hands and feet, and difficult bowel movements, treat the Foot Shaoyin Kidney channel. In reversal diseases, with abdominal distension, audible sounds, abundant cold qi, intestinal gurgling like rolling grains, and difficulty in urination and defecation, treat the Foot Taiyin Spleen channel.

For dry throat, heat in the mouth as if sticky with glue, treat the Foot Shaoyin Kidney channel. For pain in the knee, select Dubi point (ST35), use a round-sharp needle, and apply intermittent needling after insertion. The needle tip is as fine as ox hair; when needling the knee, do not hesitate. For throat obstruction (laryngeal paralysis) with inability to speak, treat the Foot Yangming Stomach channel; for those who can speak, treat the Hand Yangming Large Intestine channel. For malaria without thirst, occurring every other day, treat the Foot Yangming Stomach channel; for malaria with thirst occurring daily, treat the Hand Yangming Large Intestine channel.

For tooth pain with no aversion to cold drinks, treat the Foot Yangming Stomach channel; for those with aversion to cold drinks, treat the Hand Yangming Large Intestine channel. For deafness without pain, treat the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder channel; for deafness with pain, treat the Hand Yangming Large Intestine channel. For epistaxis that does not stop, with dark purple blood, treat the Foot Taiyang Bladder channel; for epistaxis with bright red blood, treat the Hand Taiyang Small Intestine channel. If it does not stop, needle the point below the wrist (Wangu point, SI4); if still does not stop, bloodlet from the popliteal fossa (Weizhong point, BL40). For lumbago with coldness at the painful site, treat the Foot Taiyang Bladder and Foot Yangming Stomach channels; for heat at the painful site, treat the Foot Jueyin Liver channel; for inability to bend forward or backward, treat the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder channel. For internal heat with wheezing, bloodlet from the blood vessels in the popliteal fossa of the Foot Shaoyin Kidney channel. For irritability with no desire to eat and gradually decreasing speech, needle the Foot Taiyin Spleen channel; for irritability with excessive speech, needle the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder channel.

For pain in the lower jaw, needle the Hand Yangming Large Intestine channel and the engorged blood vessels of the lower jaw to cause bleeding. For neck pain with inability to bend forward or backward, needle the Foot Taiyang Bladder channel; for inability to turn the head left or right, needle the Hand Taiyang Small Intestine channel. For lower abdominal distension and swelling that ascends to the stomach duct, reaches the cardiac region, with alternate chills and fever, and difficulty in urination, treat the Foot Jueyin Liver channel. For abdominal distension, difficult bowel movements, abdominal enlargement, with pathogenic qi ascending to the chest and throat producing a heaving sound, treat the Foot Shaoyin Kidney channel. For abdominal distension, undigested food, audible sounds in the abdomen, and inability to defecate, treat the Foot Taiyin Spleen channel.

For heart pain radiating to the lumbar spine and back, with a desire to vomit, treat the Foot Shaoyin Kidney channel. For heart pain with abdominal distension, a tight and hard abdominal wall, and difficult bowel movements, treat the Foot Taiyin Spleen channel. For heart pain radiating to the back, with inability to breathe, needle the Foot Shaoyin Kidney channel; if it does not stop, treat the Hand Shaoyang Triple Burner channel. For heart pain radiating to lower abdominal distension, with pain moving up and down without fixed location, and difficulty in urination and defecation, needle the Foot Jueyin Liver channel. For heart pain with only shortness of breath and insufficient qi, needle the Hand Taiyin Lung channel. For heart pain, needle the point below the spinous process of the ninth thoracic vertebra (Jinsuo point or Zhongshu point, etc.), apply pressure with the hand after needling, and the pain will stop immediately; if it does not stop, search for tender points above and below and needle there; once found, needling will stop the pain immediately.

For lower jaw pain, needle the moving artery below the curved cheek on the Foot Yangming Stomach channel (Daying point, ST5); upon seeing blood, the pain stops immediately; if it does not stop, press on Renying point (ST9) along the channel, and it will stop immediately. For rebellious qi ascending, needle the points in the depressions of the chest and breast (such as Yingchuang point, ST16, etc.) and the points below the chest at the moving artery (such as Rugen point, ST18, etc.). For abdominal pain, needle the moving arteries on the left and right sides of the navel (such as Tianshu point, ST25, etc.); after needling, apply pressure with the hand, and the pain stops immediately; if it does not stop, needle Qichong point (ST30), apply pressure after needling, and the pain stops immediately. For atrophy and reversal (wei jue) disease, when the limbs feel bound and oppressed as if tied up, quickly loosen the bindings; do this twice daily; for numbness, recovery of sensation will occur within ten days; do not stop until the condition is cured. For hiccups, irritate the nose with a straw to induce sneezing; after sneezing, the hiccup stops; alternatively, have the patient hold their breath, then quickly meet the qi and guide it downward, and the hiccup stops immediately; startling the patient suddenly can also stop the hiccup.
