The Southern Mountain Has Fine Fish

Preface: "The Southern Fish Abound" is a poem expressing joy in sharing pleasure with worthy men. In a time of peace, the noble-hearted ruler is utterly sincere and delights in sharing such joy with worthy men.

In the south are fat fish, swimming in swarms within the net. The lord has prepared fine wine; the honored guests in leisure drink and rejoice.

In the south is a bending tree, with sweet gourd vines climbing upon it. The lord has prepared fine wine; the honored guests in leisure drink and feel at ease.

Fluttering are the turtle-doves, coming in flocks. The lord has prepared fine wine; the honored guests in leisure drink and raise their cups again.

"The Southern Fish Abound" has four stanzas, each of four lines.
