The preface to "Gan Mao" says: "Gan Mao" is a poem praising the love of goodness. The ministers of Duke Wen of Wei mostly loved goodness and virtuous talents, and people were also happy to tell them the way of goodness.

The feathered banner fluttering high, in the city of Xun.

With white silk threads adorning the pole, six fine horses draw the carriage.

That beautiful person, what shall I tell to him?

"Gan Mao" has three stanzas, each with six lines.
