Follow the High Road

The preface to "Zun Da Lu" says: "Zun Da Lu" is a poem longing for a noble man. Duke Zhuang of Wei lost the way of a ruler, and the noble man left him. The people of the state missed and hoped for the noble man's return.

Walking along the great road, I tightly grasp the hem of your sleeve. Do not despise me; do not so quickly break off the old friendship.

Walking along the great road, I firmly hold your hand. Do not reject me; do not so quickly sever the past kindness.

"Zun Da Lu" has two stanzas, each with four lines.
