Eternal Longing (The Sun Is Setting, Flowers Drowned in Mist) (Li Bai, Eternal Longing No. 2)
The sun's color is nearly spent, flowers hold mist and haze;
The moonlight is bright like white silk, I cannot sleep from sorrow.
The Zhao zither has just paused on its phoenix-shaped bridge,
The Shu lute is about to pluck the tune of mandarin duck strings.
This melody is full of feeling, yet none can send it for me;
I only wish it could follow the spring wind all the way to Mount Yanran,
Longing for you, yet separated by the vast blue sky.
Those eyes, once like autumn ripples,
Have now become fountains of flowing tears.
If you do not believe my heart is broken,
When you return, just look at the bright mirror before me.
